Abstract

This article presents an in-class exercise that is geared towards enhancing students’ understanding of social constructionism, and helping them to understand the ways in which social inequalities manifest.  Who Am I? is an exercise that was developed to demonstrate the power and effect of social constructions. Results from this activity have proved to be successful in academic settings and can be used to address controversial topics in the classroom.
