Abstract

While most research has focused on effective teaching approaches for cross-cultural business and technical communication, little has been dedicated to analyzing the process by which students come to cultivate intercultural competence and the necessary conditions that are required for this type of learning.  Wang introduces a two-part framework for teaching and learning intercultural business and technical communication designed to foster and enhance students’ knowledge on diversity topics.  The Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity was tested during this study and found to be successful.  Wang's suggested model can serve as a foundational component of an inclusive curriculum.
